The similarity and differences of the purposeand objectives of the thesisThe similarity lies in the fact that both of these concepts characterize future results that are planned to be obtained by writing a thesis. At this similarity ends. The differences are as follows: The goal should be one, but there can be several tasks. The goal characterizes the work in general, comprehensively, and the tasks relate to its parts. The goal is what the result should be achieved, the tasks – the problems that need to be solved. It is important not to confuse the wording of goals and objectives, not to mix these elements of introduction together, to clearly distinguish them.
This is necessary not only in order to correctly write the introduction, but also to determine the structure of the main part of the diploma, the order of its preparation. How to write a thesis goal The thesis is written to achieve a specific goal. The obvious goal of any graduation project is to fulfill (in accordance with the curriculum) the necessary conditions for obtaining a specialist degree, bachelor’s or master’s degree.
But such a goal does not characterize a specific work (its theme and content). Remark 1 The value of the thesis is determined by the achievement when writing a concrete result. Figure 1. An example of the purpose of the thesis Possible results depend on the specialty in which the student is trained: Economic disciplines involve the developmentof recommendations (at the micro level – for specific enterprises, at the macro level – for a region or country), allowing to increase the efficiency of the research object.
Possible results depend on the specialty in which the student is studying: Economic disciplines involve the development of recommendations (at the micro level – for specific enterprises, at the macro level – for a region or country), allowing to increase the efficiency of the research object. Example 1 For example: “Developing recommendations for improving the inventory management of Chamomile LLC.” Legal disciplines involve the identification of ways to improve a branch of law or its practical application. “Formulation of proposals for the improvement of legislation governing relations connected with guardianship”. Technical disciplines require the developmentof aproject — it could be a system design, a device, a software product, etc.
